Fulochhagiri (Fulchoki)
The story of how the hill where Vishvabhu Buddha offered a hundred thousand flowers and made a prophecy became Fulochhagiri (Fulchoki).
Fulochhagiri (Fulchoki)
After the end of Satya Yuga, at the beginning of Treta Yuga, Vishvabhu Buddha came with his disciples to behold Nagahrad. On the south-eastern shore of Nagahrad he saw an enchanting hill covered thickly with flowers of many colours.
Gathering a hundred thousand lotuses and wild flowers that had bloomed on that mountain and fallen to the ground, Vishvabhu Buddha devoutly offered them to the Swayambhu light shining in Nagahrad.
After the worship he made a divine prophecy before his disciples: "This sacred hill, on which hundreds of thousands of flowers have been offered, will become famous by the name Fulochhagiri. In the future the waters of Nagahrad will be drained and a most delightful and fertile valley will be created."
He further said: "On all sides there will be green hills and mountains like walls, in the middle clear rivers and streams, fertile fields yielding grain, and beautiful settlements of people." Having shown them such a happy vision of the future, Vishvabhu Buddha returned to his own land with his disciples. Later this very Fulochhagiri mountain came to be called Fulchoki.
