Who we are

Nepal Jyotish is a free, advertising-supported astrology website at nepaljyotish.org. It is run by an independent team and is not a registered company, so there is no company registration number or registered office to publish here.

Because we are not a company, we do not have a data protection officer or a separate legal department. All questions about this policy, and every request about your information, go to one address: info [at] nepaljyotish [dot] org.

Information you give us

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information. Please do not send us identity documents, medical records, or financial details.

• Sign-in details from Google. When you choose to sign in, Google confirms who you are and shares your name, email address and account identifier with us.
• Birth details you enter — name, date, time and place of birth — so the site can calculate a kundali, a matching or a muhurat for you.
• Requests you send us, such as a consultation request or a message submitted through our contact form, including any image you choose to attach.
• Details you add later, such as a phone number or address, if you decide to fill them in on your account.

Information collected automatically

• Your language preference, and whether you are currently signed in.
• General usage information: which pages and tools you use, how you arrived at the site, and your browser and device type.
• An approximate location. Our hosting provider converts your IP address into a country so the site can open in the appropriate language.
• Technical error reports, so that faults can be found and fixed.

Third-party services

Several parts of Nepal Jyotish are delivered by third-party services. These services are active on the site, and each one handles information under its own privacy policy. We do not control that handling.

Each service below is listed with what it does for the site. For the detail of what a service collects, how it is used and how long it is kept, the provider’s own policy is the authoritative source — please read it there.

• We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own independent marketing.
• Advertising on this site is delivered by Google. You can control personalised advertising through your Google Ads Settings.

Cookies and local storage

How we use your information

• To calculate and display your kundali, matching, muhurat and other results.
• To keep you signed in, and to remember the language you chose.
• To save the birth profiles you ask us to save, so you do not have to re-enter them.
• To reply to your messages and consultation requests.
• To keep the site working, secure, and free to use.
• To show advertising, which pays for the service.

When information is shared

• With the third-party services listed above, which is how the site is delivered and funded.
• With Google, as part of signing you in.
• Where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the site, its users, or the public.
• Never sold to anyone, and never handed to a data broker.

How long we keep it

• Account information and saved birth profiles are kept until you ask us to remove them.
• Messages and consultation requests are kept for as long as it takes to deal with them and to keep a reasonable record afterwards.
• Automatically collected usage information is retained by the third-party services listed above, under their own policies.
• Data stored in your own browser stays until you clear it in your browser settings.

Keeping it safe

Access to stored information is limited to the accounts we control, and information is sent over an encrypted connection. We review what we keep and remove what is no longer needed.

No website can promise perfect security. Please use a strong password on the Google account you sign in with, and tell us at info [at] nepaljyotish [dot] org if you believe someone else has gained access to your account.

Your rights and your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the information held about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info [at] nepaljyotish [dot] org and we will action the request.

There is no self-service delete button on the site yet. If you email us, we will remove your account information and the birth profiles saved to it — please allow us a reasonable time to complete the request.

One thing worth knowing: because the service is free, some pages depend on advertising revenue. If you block those ads, the page may ask you to allow them before it continues.

• Turn off personalised advertising in your Google Ads Settings.
• Clear cookies and browser storage from your browser settings, which removes any preferences the site saved locally.
• Opt out of analytics using Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on or the equivalent controls offered by the other providers listed above.
• Stop using the site and ask us to delete your account at any time.

Children

Nepal Jyotish is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email info [at] nepaljyotish [dot] org and we will remove it.

Where information is stored

Information is stored on servers operated by the service providers listed above. Those servers may be located outside Nepal, including in the United States and the European Union.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The dates at the top of the page show when it was published and when it was last changed, so you can always see which version applies.
